Today was our big day at Alhambra! We reached the top of the hill at about 12:15 and met our guide.
Then walked around the side of the hill to one of the main entrances to the palace complex. First we visited the portion built by Charles V.
It was modeled after the Roman Coliseum, but never had its third level built because King Carlos needed more armies.
Next we entered the earlier-built Arab parts of the palace complex.
The view of the city below was amazing.
But of course, the inside was the most beautiful thing we'd seen yet all week!
After the palaces, we had time to go to the gardens, but the students were so tired, that only a few of us decided to go. The others went to rest on the bus.
It was a beautiful day for our visit, and everyone is now totally exhausted. It's a good thing our evening is just dinner and a Flamenco show with almost no more walking!
